A couple years back I drew a cross section of an anthropomorphic race car. With the eminent release of another anthropomorphic race car movie coming out I thought I’d celebrate by returning to this idea. I drew a more cleaned up version of the race car and also his friend the tow truck:
I’ve also started selling prints in my online shop. I’ll be adding new prints to the shop each week and retiring old prints after a couple months. The prints are printed on nice sturdy archival velvet fine art paper and printed in a lush 7 ink process. They look great up on the wall. haha, thanks. My five year old walked into the studio today and his jaw dropped when he saw these. All he said was, “cool.”
I asked my daughter about what she thought of these and she just said “good”. I’d use a word such as awesome, or fantastic, but good will suffice!

Gorgeous.. I always liked this concept. The layouts and inclusion of the typographic elements really does it some justice.
Thank you for not putting horrified expressions on their faces. That would have been much more disturbing.
I love it when you show the guts of stuff. And I really like the style and typography of these.
As beautiful as they are rendered, the car/truck cutatways creep me out! I never liked anthropomorphized in-animate objects, even as a kid (I remember as a four-year-old hating the little tugboat from the Golden Books).
Pretty, but creepy. Probably not what you were going for, though…

Creepy, but also sheds some light on a few things I had wondered about that movie. Great execution. I like the comparison between these and the one you did previously- great improvements since then.
